The game is played on an 8×8 checkerboard with alternating dark and light squares. Each player begins with 12 pieces placed on the dark squares of the first three rows closest to them.
Pieces move diagonally forward, one square at a time. They capture opponent pieces by jumping over them diagonally onto an empty square.
When a piece reaches the opponent's back row, it becomes a "king" and can move diagonally forward or backward on following turns.
If a jump is available, you must take it. Multiple jumps in a single turn are allowed and required if available.
The player who captures all of the opponent's pieces, or blocks them so they cannot move, wins the game.
